"I control it"

"You don't get to choose how my life goes, I control it."
(Emery's response to me when I told her we were not going to McDonald's for dinner.)

Still catching up....

I am determined to finish 2009. I have all the pictures and right now I have time. My eyes just play tricks on me after staring at the computer. (geez, I guess I always find excuses!)

OH BROTHER!

Emery was crying because I wouldn't let her take a shower. (Well, really she was crying because it was 10pm and she was REALLY tired.) I was trying to get Mitchell to go to bed and he insisted on going in and trying to make Emery stop crying. I told him to leave her alone and go to bed. He said he just couldn't stand her crying and had to make her feel better before he could sleep. I asked him why he sometimes teases her then and he said he can only stand it if HE is the one who gets to make her cry. OH, BROTHER!!!

Sunday brunch (2)

We started a tradition of Christmas brunch a few years ago. When we were trying to find a day to do it there just wasn't one day that worked for everyone. (It is that good- nobody wants to miss it!) We ususally do it before Christmas, but Brittney wasn't coming from Las Vegas until Christmas morning, and Kathleen was going out of town Christmas day. So Eileen hosted brunch on December 27 and January 3 so neither Brittney or Kathleen had to miss out. This was the second round. I could get used to this!

We had eggs benedict, bacon, breakfast potatoes, fruit, muffins, just to name a few. It was so good that Emery ate hers and asked for seconds (that ususally doesn't happen - unless it's dessert!).

Brianna and Alex provided some entertainment. They had contests to see who had the best signature and who could draw the best elephant and pig. I am the proud winner of the elephant contest!

Kathleen provided some entertainment as well. A game of Holes is always a must.

Will checking out the giant gingerbread house with Bob.

Eileen and Alex planning their next sleep over.

Mitchell trying to catch gumdrops that were being thrown across the room.

The aftermath....

I have the best sisters! Miss you, Sherrie!
