BYU Football Camp

Mitchell was hitching a ride with Jeff and Ben to Provo for football camp this week. On Thursday Ben was sick so I ended up having to drive him at the last minute. We were only 10 minutes late. The "kill the Utes" cheer.......

Mitchell was the best at this drill. The coach was calling plays and even saying go, but they were not supposed to move until the ball moved. He got it every time!

Who knew they played skins at BYU? Celebrating a touchdown!

Coach Bronco Mendenhall was there talking to the kids and signing autographs. Mitchell was a little bit irritated because I forgot to wash his shirt the night before and made him wear something else. The coach asked if he wanted him to sign his shirt and Mitchell looked at me. I said he was a little upset because I forgot to wash his shirt and Coach said he better do something about it...........

so he took off his hat and signed it and gave it to Mitchell!

So then he had to thank me for NOT washing his shirt!

I feel a little bit guilty about all the stuff Emery gets dragged to. It's hard not to because she is soooo good. I complain about it more than she does. Today she didn't even get breakfast or her hair combed and still no complaining or crying. Her entertainment today was the camera, she took most of the pictures. Not too bad considering the lights and the action.

the pitching lesson

We went to the park on Sunday night. The plan was Emery was going to ride her bike while Mitchell was practicing baseball. Emery rode her bike for the first 5 minutes then just wanted to do what Mitchell was doing. He gave her a quick lesson.....

No, like this.....

STRIKE!!!

So happy when her brother doesn't have any cousins or friends to take his attention off of her!!!

Emery's Trophy

Emery had her first gymnastics meet. It started off with a little warm up dance. She wouldn't do it. She just stared ahead. She is so shy and gets really embarrassed doing anything in front of people. (I wonder where she got that?!?!)

The first event was the "vault". They are supposed to run and jump off the board with two feet and land on their feet on the mat. She is really good at it in class, but here she just walked as slow as possible......

then stepped onto the mat. She was supposed to raise her arms and say "ta da", but that for sure was not happening!

She got a little more comfortable when they moved to the bar. She did what she was supposed to........

until the "ta da". Her coach gave her a little help.

She got even more brave when they moved to the beam.

And had a huge blurry dismount, but still no ta da!

On to the floor.....

Then a little more waiting.........

for what she came for..........................

She has been a little jealous of Mitchell's trophy collection and now has one of her own!
