The Playoffs

I thought it would be funny to ask Dan when the Cowboys play this week.

(note to self.........it was not funny!)

Dreams dashed, Dec 28, 2008
Plagued by mistakes and appearing generally out of sync throughout the game, the Cowboys were embarrassed in Philadelphia, 44-6.

2008 Review

I loved apriloaks.blogspot.com/ 2008 review, so I decided to copy. (I think copying may be my talent)

January
My Mom's sister Marilynn died. She was her only sister who lived in Utah, they spent a lot of time together. It did bring one of her brother's and his wife and four of her sisters here from Oregon, and one sister from Arizona. It's kind of crazy that most of Marilynn's kids live here, but this is about the only time we have gotten together. (The last time I remember was in Oregon in 2000 when my Grandpa died.) Kathleen hosted a big party with EVERYONE at her house after the funeral.

February
I had a bunch of free 10 x13's from Sears, but regretted every visit. I swore I was going for the last time, but then I got this picture. It is my favorite.

March
Mitchell turned 8 years old on March 1st. He was baptized on March 8th.
(Dan wore a suit!?!?!)

Emery turned 3 years old on March 31st.

April

Mitchell started playing baseball in a league he had to try out for. He played 1st base and pitcher. I never thought I would cheer for the Yankees. His team took 1st place and he was asked to play on the all star team.
We went to Provo for the blessing of my nephew Nathan's baby, Owen. We had a great time hanging out in the 50 degree weather, thinking how warm it felt. The Packard cousins were trying to make Grace and Emery pose like this for a picture but they were very embarrassed and wouldn't do it. They went to another meeting and we were waiting outside. Grace and Emery started doing the pose and begging me to take pictures.

May
Another cousin. William Cole Anderson was born on May 19th. Such a sweet baby. His middle name is after my nephew, David Cole Craig, who passed away in 2006.

Mitchell loves him sooo much. He keeps saying "I want a baby brother", then Emery says "I want a baby brother that's a girl".

June
Brittney and Hagop got married on June 2nd. I did her engagement and bridal pictures, the invitations and the cake. (even though I said I would never do another wedding cake! How could I say no to my chum?)
Luckily I wasn't responsible for pictures on her wedding day.
This was taken by Hamblin Photography.

Emery had her 1st dance recital on June 20th. I wish I knew how to post the video. She was very shy at the rehersal so I was very surprised she even went on stage. It was so cute. One of her little friends kept running off the stage and another stood in the middle and waved. So funny.

Waiting for her turn...........

July
Dan's Grandma celebrated her 95th birthday. It is amazing how well she gets around and remembers things.

We love camping at Hobblecreek. We always say we are going to try somewhere new, but we always go back. There is a perfect place for the kids to ride bikes, scooters or roller blades, hills to climb up and slide down, water to throw rocks in or fish and if Michelle comes along the food is amazing. Some how she can even make a gourmet hot dog. They even have a golf course for the men to enjoy.

August
Mitchell started 3rd grade! What!?!?!?!?! He wouldn't even let me take him. Just hopped on his bike and rode off all by himself.

Lots of birthday parties and water fun!

A road trip to Oregon for the Osborn family reunion. We got about 3 hours away and the transmission went out on my car. We ended up having to back track to Ogden and rent a car. That was after we were already delayed because Michelle woke up with a totally swollen face and had to go to the dentist. We finally made it to Jerome, Idaho and got in bed and Emery started throwing up. We were wondering if we were being told to go back home.

We finally made it. Dan wouldn't let Mitch go because he had football stuff. I thought family should come first, but Dan won.

A few of the Osborn cousins......

September
It felt as if football ruled our lives at this point. There was always a practice, a game, a weigh in, a fund raiser....

We have made it a tradition to go to Las Vegas for Brittney's birthday (September 27th). This year it was me, Linda, Monica, Kathleen and Karen and Will. We usually drive, but this time we flew (round trip ticket $108.50, gas about $2.50 per gallon). This was the first year for me without one of my kids.

October
I always have great plans to take the 30 minute drive to see the fall leaves. This year I finally made it! And 3 times!!!

We also went to a bunch of Halloween parties and carnivals. It was nice to have warm weather. It rained on Halloween but still no coats needed.

November
I think I have mentioned this enough.....

December
The past 2 years we have gone to Hogle Zoo for breakfast with Santa. This year we went to Zoo Lights. It was fun, but soooo cold.

Can't go without sports, so it was on to basketball.

We went to see Santa, but he stepped out for a while, we did get to see 2 of his reindeer though.

We had a very Merry Christmas with lots of family. I was so grateful to be home for the holidays! And so grateful for the reason we celebrate this time of year!

What a year! Looking forward to 2009...........
