TRICK OR TREAT

Monica provided dinner at Linda's house (thanks!) and then we went trick-or-treating. We got rained on, but it was not cold at all. We went out with Marion Barber from the Dallas Cowboys (Mitchell), a bat (Will), a witch (Emery), Darth Maul (Alex), a butterfly (Grace), 2 more football players (Ben and Nick), Sponge Bob and Patrick (Harper and Jaden), and a zombie (Max).

JAGUARS!!!

Mitchell played his first year of tackle football. I love football, but it's kind of hard to see someone Mitchell's size (#9) take on kids this size and bigger..... I could not believe that some of them were only 9! I love his face staring this kid down.

This was the last game of the regular season. Mitchell had a great game. This run was about 15 yards and he broke several tackles...

He hit this guy head on and kept running!

I couldn't take the picture of him on the bottom of the pile, so here is one after they ran thru a banner at half time of the first game.

His team did not have a very good season, but most of the kids had a great time (even if some of their parents did not). They could not get enough players to go to the Jag Bowl so we thought the season was over. Then Dan got a phone call last night from the coach of the A team, and asked if Mitch could play on their team for the post season games. So- two more weeks of FOOTBALL!!! I don't know who is more excited- Mitch or Dan!

A creepy birthday.

Happy birthday, Max! (my nephew). He is 10 today. He is a very kind hearted kid. He is very sensitive and always looking out for others. He does not like contention and does not like when others feelings are hurt. But he loves creepy stuff! He wanted a cake with a zombie and also wanted it to ooze out blood when it was cut into. I am not really familiar with what zombies look like, so this was the best I could come up with. When Max saw it he acted very happy and was very gracious and appreciative. I asked if it was what he wanted and he said "Well, I was thinking of a zombie laying down across the cake so when you cut it..." then I cut him off and said "I am sorry. I didn't really understand what you meant" and he said "that's o.k- this is better!" So sweet. Then he said again how much he loved it, but next year could I do the same thing only make the skin green ............... So I had to fix it!!! Happy birthday, Max!!!

I love Fall.

We drove up Little Cottonwood Canyon to see all the changing colors. I love fall but it never lasts long enough. I always have intentions to drive up the canyon, but I am usually too late. Not this year, it was so pretty.


Mitch was tired of pictures ("...the camera is the worst invention ever!") and decided he was going to do his own pose. (should I be scared?)

Emery Danielle.......beautiful?!?

Emery loves to play a game where she introduces herself to others. She was playing with Grace and introduced herself as something like the "amazing Emery Danielle Hansen". Then she told Grace it was her turn and she introduced Grace as the "amazing Grace Morgan Hansen". Grace got upset and told Emery she was not Grace HANDSOME, she was Grace BEAUTIFUL. So now Emery has changed her name to Emery Danielle Beautiful. I had to take her to the doctor the other day and had to say her name while I was checking in. She kept trying to get my attention and I finally bent down to see what was so important and she told me that I told them the wrong name. "I'm Emery Danielle Beautiful...member?"
